Crone Enthroned

Chloe Scott, dancer and Feldenkrais practitioner, posed for Crone Enthroned. I was inspired by Egyptian stone sculpture of Hatshepsut, fifth pharaoh of Egypt, and with the desire to pay respect to wise women everywhere. In tribute to Chloe, I carved a frieze of dancers on her gown and a lotus, symbol of enlightenment, on the back of her throne.
